Cumin has been researched many times. Here is one of the studies, 88 women considered overweight and obese were entered into this study. Then they were divided into two groups randomly. One group ate 3 grams of cumin powder daily mixed with 5 grams of yogurt. The second group ate the yogurt but without the added cumin. Both of the groups received dietary advice and reduced their daily calories by 500.
Every woman was measured and weighed before the study; they did three months of dieting. Whomen, who ate the cumin, lost 3 pounds compared to the other group who did not eat cumin. Better than that the group who ate cumin decreased body fat percentage by 14.64%. They also reduced levels of cholesterol, triglycerides associated with atherosclerosis, heart disease and diabetes. The studied concluded cumin powder can significantly boost the success of weight reduction.
